Welcome to My Mother's Cookbook: Freshly Real

Welcome to 'My Mother's Cookbook: Freshly Real'

'My Mother's Cookbook: Freshly Real' began as memories of Rosamond Cornell's cooking and quickly became a cookbook. An ebook emerged following the needs and wants of my friends, children and students. It is a generationally friendly cookbook that is true to the cooking traditions of my mother and her friends in the 1950's and 1960's.
It begins with 'The Story'. As you read, you will find food items highlighted in blue. Click on one, and a pop-up will outline the food item's recipe along with preparation photographs to guide you through the cooking process. For those who like the feel of a cookbook with pages, the chapter 'Recipe Box' offers each recipe as traditional pages, accompanied by color photographs. Have fun, let your friends know and have a Sunday Dinner on Saturday night. Tell us all about it. Send us your pictures.

Benefiting The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia

'My Mother's Cookbook: Freshly Real' is dedicated to my granddaughter and the skilled doctors and nurses at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. A rare birth defect, ALCAPA, required open heart surgery for this 7 month old infant. Today this child thrives in health and laughter and is the joy of our lives.
A portion of the proceeds from this book will be donated to The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for research on pediatric heart disease and the care of infant critical cardiac care patients. If you would like to make a donation to The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, please donate at http://chop.donordrive.com/campaign/mymotherscookbookfreshlyreal.

Nancy's Book Launch Party in Miami Beach

Saturday, May 21, 2016...... Miami Beach Florida......
Nancy's Birthday Party and Book Launch
Over 70 friends gathered to launch Nancy's new ebook 'My Mother's Cookbook: Freshly Real'© and party to benefit The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia; Infant Cardiac Critical Care. 1960's party foods included 'what my mother put on a ritz cracker' with combinations including our favorite cheez whiz and peanut butter and marshmallow fluff. Let's not forget smoked salmon and cream cheese. Wearing their party favor aprons, the crowd danced and socialized to the 60's and 70's music of DJ John Cook, building up a good appetite. They devoured the dessert table selection of carrot cake, chocolate cake, raspberry sponge with white chocolate icing and wild berry pie. In lieu of birthday gifts, friends donated to The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for a total of just over $4,000. What a success......

Nancy and Nancy taking their picture with Rosamond, who is front and center on the 'My Mother's Cookbook: Freshly Real'© book cover pictured on the banner. Rosamond age 6 and Albert age 5 in 1917..... Nancy and Nancy are oldest friends from junior high school..... not in 1917, more like 1960.

And its Laura, Jerry, Catherine, John and Nancy looking good in the cookbook's promotional apron, laughing it up with Nancy's mother.

Jane and John....... modeling their aprons.... both have been great supporters of 'My Mother's Cookbook: Freshly Real'©. Jane flew in from Vermont and John drove in from Miami.

Nancy holding down the 'make your mother's canapĂ© crackers station'....... cream cheese and salmon bits, peanut butter and marshmallow, pineapple cream cheese with a cherry... what did your mother put on a ritz? (confused about the Nancy's, there are 3 of them)

Helping hands to make this party work, registering guests and taking donations for The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. George, Lillibet, Arian, Niki, Xiaochan and Alex! They did a fantastic job.

Jim and Nancy getting the party started. Jim was such an important part of setting up and keeping things going all evening.

Carts piled high with cakes, pies, salads, rolls, wine, beer, sparkling water and ice. Supplies for Nancy's Party in a train of carts heading out of Fresh Market in South Beach on Saturday afternoon.

Looking for more pictures of YOU from the great party. Send them through Nancy's email at scanlonnancy@aol.com.
