Welcome to My Mother's Cookbook: Freshly Real

Welcome to 'My Mother's Cookbook: Freshly Real'

'My Mother's Cookbook: Freshly Real' began as memories of Rosamond Cornell's cooking and quickly became a cookbook. An ebook emerged following the needs and wants of my friends, children and students. It is a generationally friendly cookbook that is true to the cooking traditions of my mother and her friends in the 1950's and 1960's.
It begins with 'The Story'. As you read, you will find food items highlighted in blue. Click on one, and a pop-up will outline the food item's recipe along with preparation photographs to guide you through the cooking process. For those who like the feel of a cookbook with pages, the chapter 'Recipe Box' offers each recipe as traditional pages, accompanied by color photographs. Have fun, let your friends know and have a Sunday Dinner on Saturday night. Tell us all about it. Send us your pictures.

Benefiting The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia

Benefiting The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia

'My Mother's Cookbook: Freshly Real' is dedicated to my granddaughter and the skilled doctors and nurses at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. A rare birth defect, ALCAPA, required open heart surgery for this 7 month old infant. Today this child thrives in health and laughter and is the joy of our lives.
A portion of the proceeds from this book will be donated to The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for research on pediatric heart disease and the care of infant critical cardiac care patients. If you would like to make a donation to The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, please donate at http://chop.donordrive.com/campaign/mymotherscookbookfreshlyreal.

My Mother's Cookbook: Freshly Real Book Launch Party Raises $3,000 for The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia

We had a great time at 'My Mother's Cookbook: Freshly Real' book launch party last Sunday at the Scandinavia House in New York. A good crowd helped to celebrate the ebook interactive cookbook release on iBooks. Check out the sample on iBooks to see what the excitement is about.
I am excited to share that we raised over $3,000 with this book launch party for research on ALCAPA, the birth defect that my granddaughter was born with, and had open heart surgery for on New Years Day 2015. This amount, combined the generous contribution of $5000 from the Bergman Family Foundation and $4000 raised in Miami, gives us a great start on our long term goal of $100,000.
As sales of cookbooks will generate donations of $2.00 per book, your help in spreading the word about 'My Mother's Cookbook: Freshly Real' through your social network will be so appreciated.

'My Mothers Cookbook: Freshly Real' Summer Picnic Recipe Post .... Rosamond's Potato Salad

Rosamond's Potato Salad

What great food at Nancy's Book Launch Party last Saturday...... is what everyone is saying.  The favorites, besides desserts, were the baked ham and the homemade potato salad. Since it is Memorial Day weekend you might like to try the potato salad recipe for yourself. My friend Nancy, who was helping to make the 15 pounds of potato salad we served last Saturday, remembered my mother Rosamond making this recipe.

The most important parts of this recipe are to use fresh, small red and yellow skin potatoes, keep the outer skins on and to make the salad while the potatoes are still warm.
Try out this first posting of a recipe from 'My Mother's Cookbook: Freshly Real'© and tell us how you like it... send your picnic pictures to scanlonnancy@aol.com and we will post them.
